World Cup 2014 Brazil Final : Germany 1 – 0 Argentina

With only a single goal from Germany, Argentina’s dreams of a World Cup victory were destroyed.

Superstar footballer Lionel Messi was devastated by the result after the entire South American continent pinned their hopes on him to win the trophy.

Even through Barca and Argentina titan Messi was awarded the coveted FIFA Golden Ball award for best footballer of the tournament after the final match, Messi still could only think of his and Argentina’s shattered dreams of winning World Cup 2014 Brazil.

After the wistle blew on the final World Cup clash, Messi revealed that he was both angry and devastated that he did not win the most elite competition in the world.

Germany was the first European nation to earn a World Cup victory on South American turf.

Many German fans thought the award should have gone to one of Germany’s world champions. Rodriguez, Neymar, Angel di Maria, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, Philipp Lahm, Javier Mascherano, Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben were on the short list.

Messi’s next chance to win a World Cup tournament will be in Russia in 2018.
